很多客户碍于情面，只好耐着性子听，不好意思表现出不耐烦，偶尔还要附和两句，吹捧一下。
For the sake of affection, many customers have to listen patiently, embarrassed to show impatience, and occasionally go along with a few words of flattery.
如果碰到个脾气没那么好的，或者相对直接点的外国人，他可能就会来一句：Please make a long story short!（请您长话短说！）
当然，make short of long省略了story，在口语中也是可以的，表示同一种意思，就是“别废话，说重点”。
在英式英语中，一般会用cut来代替make，这个短语就变成了cut a long story short或者cut short of long。
